The Sycamore Canyon Trailhead is a short drive from Pico Rivera and is absolutely stunning. The Trailhead has a small parking lot, which was mostly empty when I went. The trail itself is really easy to navigate, so you won’t get lost. And you can take my word for that because I am prone to getting lost everywhere I go. If my car did not mark its’ location, I cannot tell you how many times I would walk around in circles for hours trying to find it.
I was not planning on location scouting when I went, so I was wearing heeled boots (only two inches but still) and hiked about three miles total. So, if I can walk it in heels, you will absolutely fine and won’t work up a sweat before your engagement session.

As soon as you leave the parking lot, you are immediately immersed in a woodsy area with trees providing cover. At the end of this little section, there is a railing, which you can see in the photograph below, which is super cute.
There are endless trees and expansive views of rolling hills in the distance. The trees provide shade and a beautiful backdrop, you can even see the changing of the leaves. As shown below, this massive tree provides an oasis for photograph opportunities and lets in a little bit of sunlight making it look mystical. Personally, sunlight seeping in is one of my favorite aesthetics. Beyond, the scenery and views themselves, the Sycamore Canyon Trailhead was super quiet. Granted I went on a Wednesday midday, but I only ran into four people!
