The Huntington Gardens and Library
The Huntington Gardens and Library are a staple of Pasadena. There are so many different types of flowers at the Huntington Gardens. The first time I went to the Huntington Gardens, the number of different flowers shocked me. The expansive gardens are nothing short of stunning. Year-round the Gardens are a prime spot for photography sessions and there is no shortage of unique spots. The Huntington Gardens & Library do require an admission ticket, which is only $29 for adults. You can find more information on their website.
Jasmine’s Portrait Photography Session
Unlike typical Los Angeles, when Jasmine and I met up for her session, it was cloudy and moody in Pasadena. Regardless, it was still warm outside, and the Huntington Gardens were beautiful.
Jasmine is one of the bubbliest clients I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Initially, she was worried about appearing awkward, because no experience modeling, but with a little instruction she was a natural. She was happy to go along with any of my ideas.
I am obsessed with so many of the photographs from this session, but my absolute favorites are with Jasmine sitting on this bench in the gardens and her face showing through the leaves. This bench was along the path towards the Rose Garden. The Huntington Rose Garden is gorgeous and a prime location for a photography session in April or late October (blooming season for roses). If you have never been to Huntington Gardens, I highly recommend going. It is a magical place with countless types of flowers and trees. Naturally embedded into the gardens are so many options for photography, there are scattered benches, and paths through the trees. If you want one location and numerous looks, Huntington Gardens is the perfect place to have your portrait photography session.
Here are some of my favorite photographs from the session!
